We have learned to buffer. To manage. To expect it and get by.
We can now bear it all and barely flinch.
But when an unexpected kindness, a simple kind word or warm gesture is offered?
That's when we dissolve. Caught in the back of the throat, the making of a small wail begins.
We try to shake it off. But in genuine caring, the tears come without permission.
No buffering. No bearing.
Just a seeping in of warmth.
